Helen May Beecroft
Helen May Beecroft, a ray of sunshine, passed away gracefully Oct. 28, 2006 in Mesa, Arizona at the age of 92. Born June 19, 1914 in El Paso, Texas to Alonzo L. Taylor and Katie Spilsbury. Married Carl J. Beecroft, the love of her life, Dec. 26, 1933. She and Carl had 3 Children, Carl Jr, (deceased) Mona, and Katie. They also had a foster son Patrick. Anyone who has been lucky enough to brush by Helen during her 92-year journey knows she was a positive force whereever she was. She saw the best in everyone, she loved a good prank and she always had a smile or a hug for anyone who stepped in her path. She was a devoted wife and mother, a loving sister, aunt, grandmother, cousin and friend. Of the many LDS church callings she held, she cherished most, the role of being a "mission mother". She served a mission with her husband Carl who was mission president of the South East Mexican Mission from 1963 -1964 and the Chilean Mission from 1965-1966. Many missionaries were fortunate to have been watched over by her loving heart while far away from home. She is survived by her husband, Carl J. Beecroft; 2 daughters, Mona (Roger) Baldwin of Mesa, AZ, Katie (Dennis) Willette of Salt Lake City, Utah; daughter in-law, Rita Beecroft of Mesa, AZ; foster son, Patrick Beecroft of Chile; and sister, Marguerite Payne. Also surviving are l0 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by son Carl J. Beecroft Jr.; granddaughter, Carla Beecroft; and grandson, Scottie Beecroft; brothers, Harold Taylor, Zac Taylor, and Ray Taylor. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at the Alta Mesa LDS Chapel on Adobe and 5600 S., Mesa, Arizona. Family Visitation will be at the Ward Chapel an hour prior to the service. Interment: Mountain View Mortuary Gardens. Sign the Guest Book at eastvalleytribune.com
